The designer kitchen trend also includes the increasing inclusion of open elements and it’s not hard to see why.  Open elements create the illusion of space and make the kitchen seem more inviting and less clinical.  They assist to provide an ordered but lived-in feel, which makes sense for the most utilised room of the house.  Open elements don’t replace clever kitchen storage but act as a design feature adding personality and functionality.  Again, the options to include open elements are broad – like equipped splash-backs, glass cabinet doors, open shelved corners, and varying kitchen cabinet heights.

No matter what the style, storage and functionality within the area available is always a priority in kitchen design. Never before has this been easier with the latest technological developments allowing a range of ways to make best use of the space. We’re now seeing more of things like kitchen doors which disappear to reveal appliances, workspaces or storage, bench tops which slide to create table seating, and kitchen island tops which extend to create additional bench space.

There’s been some change in the last five years as the new style has evolved however the essential elements remain, giving confirmation and reinforcement it’s here to stay, for many years to come.
